My training has helped me to lose 67 lbs and has increased my energy levels, flexibility, and overall health. I can bend in ways I could not before, and traveling and doing chores, running up and down stairs is much easier than before. Since we started training, I have less back pain, more muscle and continue to lose body fat. I love working with Margeaux because she always challenges me and I would never have been able to do this by myself. As a relative newcomer to Core Fitness, it didn’t take long to figure out what sets them apart from other gyms and personal training experiences. You can go to any gym, in any city, and hire any trainer, and they’ll tell you all day long about what they want you to be doing. They’ll give you a list and even give you sets of quantifiable goals. And for some people, this is enough. For me, it’s missing two vital components: the how and the why of it all. What Core Fitness has done successfully for me is not only tell me WHAT to do but tell me WHY and HOW I should do it. From how it can benefit me, to how to properly do a movement and from why doing it that way is important. I feel like I have a better understanding of what it is that I do each and every time I step foot in the gym. Not only was I given a road map when I started, but I’m being taught how to navigate it to get where I want to go with my health, strength and body composition. There is always a positive atmosphere surrounding you at Core. I’ve never been a part of a gym atmosphere where the staff was so knowledgeable about the human body and how to control, manipulate and treat it. The nutritional component wasn’t something I was expecting and it’s made a world of a difference for me. The constant maintenance that Justin is able to perform to keep me from breaking down has been a life saver. At 19 I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, three herniated discs, hypermobility syndrome, and sciatica. In the six years since then, I have tried various treatments suggested by doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors. Unfortunately, I experienced little relief. Wearing a back brace and planning my daily activity around the amount of walking or standing I had to do became a norm. I even wore a neck brace at night. About a year ago, I decided I was too young to give up. I started going to a gym and walking on the treadmill, increasing my distance a little at a time. Before I knew it, I was feeling stronger.
